Step 4: Applications
Now that the drive's partitioned the way I think I want it, it's time to install some applications. After all, that is the whole point.
| For no particular reason, I started with 'Roxio Easy DVD Creator 6' which came with the DVD-RW drive. No surprises, it just installed just like any program should install. I started it and it looked just as expected. Just as a test, I used it to make some back copies of some of the CD-Roms I've been using to get my computer going. | ![]() |

| So, I just went on installing a bunch of applications I want on the new toy. Nothing really major at this point, just basic stuff I should have. |

| When I was at Staples, I picked up 'Norton System Works 2004' and installed that too. I ran it just see what it would find and so it would get an image of the system. | ![]() |

At this point, it's pretty much just like any other computer I suppose. I just kept installing applications and seeing if they work, which they do. I'm running out of tripod space so I won't bother with more pix. That and it wouldn't show anything useful. I'll save my little remaining webspace for the few remaining hardware modifications I'm still planning. I haven't gotten to them yet but I have an idea what I'm going to do. I think for now, the computer is essentially done.
